#Bethetide
Rushing ashore
Every wave counted succinctly
One behind the other
Building and building
Climbing and climbing
Falling and falling
Until crashing upon one
Another and gasping with
Every other ripple
We spill out again
And surrounded by
Friends we slow into a
Flow towards the shore
Into pink sands
Lapping at Your
Feet

Easter 15
My Easter Prayer: God please help me to really care again.
Truly! I used to care; I used to preach; I used to advocate, but since Mom and
now Dad died, apathy has seduced and nuzzled me. Daily I’m trying, but I am oh
so tired. Somehow, Living Christ, Your unwarranted, dear Grace has been
crucified, lost, and forgotten by Your followers. In Arkansas and among some of
my family and friends, my being Christian and gay is an affront. Your
unconditional Godly Love and your human Empathy have become contingent. Thus my
grief, depression, further drown any zeal, any joy. So this Easter, I pray, resurrect
me, my dear God! Today! In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray… Miraculously Your LOVE
just won’t let me go! As exhausted as I may be: I stay Woke. And Hope!
